Your Accommodation and Breakfast

West View has been professionally decorated to a high standard and has central heating throughout. The walls are also decorated with original photography and original paintings. Our house is totally non-smoking.

Your room has en-suite facilities complete with a range of toiletries from The Soap Company, Keswick, with remote control TV, clock radio, hair dryer, and tea/coffee tray (plus a mountain of tea and coffee). Every room has a new flat screen TV with 38 digital channels. All the beds are provided with comfortable quilts and pillows with freshly laundered white cotton bedding complete with fresh white towels.

You will take breakfast in the Dining Room with views across to Causey Pike and Grizedale Pike.

Your breakfast will be one of more than 240 million variations on offer (we counted them!), including fruit juices, porridge and cereals, yogurts, breads, toast, jams and home made marmalade,  home made fruit salad, dried fruit, fresh fruit, and the biggest and tastiest Full English (Eggs, Bacon, Sausages, Baked Beans, Mushrooms and Tomatos) you will have ever seen or eaten. All cooked breakfasts are cooked to order, with no nonsence of having to choose the night before; and of course fresh Fair Trade Tea and Coffee.

The Guest Lounge is on the first floor and is a superb place to take in the views and just relax. It also houses a collection of Wellcome pharmaceutical memorabilia. This includes original tea tablets from WW1, Bromide Tablets, and the first inhalers used for asthma. Several magic lantern projectors are also on show. Lantern slides of the Lake District and other subjects can be viewed on request. Small groups and families who can use it as their base during their stay particularly appreciate the Guest Lounge.
